FAQ
Questions teachers ask
Do parents need to install anything?
No. Reminders arrive on WhatsApp and the fee page opens in the browser. Parents pay with the UPI app they already use, such as GPay, PhonePe or Paytm.
Does Dhakshina Desk hold my money?
Never. Parents pay your own UPI ID directly. We only keep the record, so there is no cut on your fees and no payout wait.
What happens when the free month ends?
Your students, fees and receipts stay safe. You can still record payments and export everything. Pick a plan from the app or this website when you are ready.
Which phones does the app run on?
The teacher app is for Android and runs well on phones with 2 GB of memory. Parents can use any phone with WhatsApp and a UPI app.
Can I bring over dues from my notebook?
Yes. Add students one by one, from your contacts or from an Excel sheet, with what each one owes or has paid in advance. It shows in their ledger as "Carried from notebook".
Who sends the reminders?
On Pro and Academy, reminders go out automatically from the Dhakshina Desk WhatsApp number, opening with your class's name. During the free month you share them from your own WhatsApp in one tap.
Can my co-teachers use it too?
Yes. Pro includes the owner and two co-teachers. Academy adds branches and teacher roles with no limit on teachers.
How is parents' data protected?
Parents agree before their first reminder, can see or delete their data at any time, and every class's records are kept separate on servers in India, following India's DPDP Act.
